Fire Up DWNTWN, presented by Ivy Tech Muncie and produced by Muncie Downtown Development Partnership, will take place in downtown Muncie on Saturday, Aug.

2 from 1 to 10 p.m.—the event offers free family fun with live music, food trucks, craft vendors and an interactive art show featuring a debut hot air balloon glow performance with Boo and returning crowd favorites like Peanut, Finley, Lil D and Chris P. Bacon. Four 20-foot-tall remote-control balloons will dip and rise while a Cloudhopper balloon makes a dramatic ascent as Liquid Fire Iron Pour and DWNTWN IDOL elimination matches light up the evening.

RoHo’s Martini Bar opened earlier this month in the historic Columbia Theater Building on south Walnut in downtown Muncie—this landmark, built in 1913 and used as a movie theater until 1928, now gives Munsonians another place to enjoy quality martinis downtown.
