- ➤ Fire Up DWNTWN, presented by Ivy Tech Muncie and produced by Muncie Downtown Development Partnership, will take place in downtown Muncie on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 1 to 10 p.m.—the event offers free family fun with live music, food trucks, craft vendors and an interactive art show featuring a debut hot air balloon glow performance with Boo and returning crowd favorites like Peanut, Finley, Lil D and Chris P. Bacon. Four 20-foot-tall remote-control balloons will dip and rise while a Cloudhopper balloon makes a dramatic ascent as Liquid Fire Iron Pour and DWNTWN IDOL elimination matches light up the evening.
