During Christmas 1930, Muncie residents balanced economic hardship with community spirit by hosting relief efforts—civic groups delivered food baskets while local stores offered discounts—and a new White River bridge opened as the Bearcats won a basketball game.

Santa Claus will greet children tomorrow at Fire Station 1 on E.

Jackson St. from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tiny Adams Memorial Pictures with Santa event where children will receive a photo, a gift and a candy cane, with a bike raffle, hot chocolate and cookies offered.

The Star Press and IU Health invite local voters to select a high school Athlete of the Week for Dec.

15 to 20 from 10 nominees, with multiple votes allowed until noon Friday, Dec. 26. Delta wrestler Jensen Boyd is the current athlete after his win at a recent tournament.
