- ➤ On Monday, Dec. 8, Center Township trustee's office opened Lone Pine Lodge on East Main Street as a shelter for families in financial need. The facility offers 27 beds and lets families stay up to 90 days while staff help them access benefits. Star Press
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The poll for The Star Press IU Health Athlete of the Week for Dec. 1-6 remains open until noon Friday, Dec. 12 (voters select from ten standout nominees). Locals can support high school athletes from East Central Indiana by casting their vote. Star Press
- ➤ Eight East Central Indiana football players earned IFCA all-state honors for the 2025 season with six seniors and two underclassmen recognized across Class 4A, 2A and 1A (no regional players were named to the Top 50 team) as the awards were announced Dec. 6. Star Press
