  • On Nov. 18, the Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce held its 131st annual dinner and presented six awards with winners including Enterprise Plumbing, the YMCA, Kylene Swackhamer, Chris Walker, Jonathan Chambless + Summit Christian School. CULTURE NEWS

  • Muncie Civic Theatre is staging Miracle on 34th Street — a musical version of the classic film — from Nov. 28 through Dec. 21 with performances on Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.; the show offers reserved seating with a captioned performance on Dec. 7 and an audio-described one on Dec. 18.  Star Press
  • Indiana native Harrison Whitaker won his ninth Jeopardy match Friday when his Final Jeopardy answer—'Who is Tesla?'—set a new season 42 record by boosting his score to $50,000 and adding to his total of $268,600; he will face new challengers on Monday, Nov. 24.  Star Press

  • Muncie middle schoolers attended special assemblies led by Fabian Ramirez—who was bullied decades ago—to learn ways to report bullying and encourage kindness. He explained that more reports signal students seeking help and that the Meridian Health Services program brings mental health support to schools.  Star Press
