- ➤ In the late 1800s, Muncie residents suffered from long tapeworm infections because poor food safety laws and unproven cures from traveling quacks (some of which removed worms up to 55 feet long) meant that dangerous treatments were common. - ➤ According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, gas prices in the Midwest reached an average of $2.91 per gallon on Monday, up from $2.83 last week—regional prices are about 4.8% lower than the national average of $3.06 per gallon.
