HEALTH NEWS

  • Indiana’s WIC program may cut benefits on Nov. 1 if extra emergency funding isn’t provided, putting over 150,000 recipients at risk of losing food support. The USDA is using tariff revenue to keep the program running — but its future remains uncertain as pending court decisions could affect funding.  Star Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • Delta accepted an invitation to join the new Eastern Crossroads Conference and will leave its current conference after the 2026-27 school year to play alongside schools like Eastern Hancock, Lapel, New Castle, and Shenandoah. The board approved the move—Delta will officially join the conference for the 2027-28 school year as it seeks a better fit amid growing enrollment disparities.  Star Press
