High school football sectional scores from October 24 show local teams competing as Muncie Central beat Marion 48 to 21—statewide matchups in classes 1A to 5A produced overtime wins, shutouts and big victories.

IHSAA football sectional games took place across East Central Indiana yesterday — including Muncie Central's effort for its first win on the road since 2016 — as The Star Press provided live scores and updates from local matchups like Winchester Community hosting ranked Lapel.

The coverage showed the region's teams fighting hard in the postseason.

The Indiana high school football tournament began Oct.

24 with first-round games for Classes A-5A and will include Class 6A matchups on Oct. 31; sectional championships take place on Nov. 7 and the state championship is scheduled for Nov. 28—29.
