- ➤ Ball State University will host author Christina Diaz Gonzalez as the 2025 Writer-in-Residence from Nov. 3 to Nov. 6—she will speak to college students and lead free events for local elementary and middle schools in Muncie with book signings following each event. Star Press
- ➤ Indiana University's Turning Point USA chapter is hosting former Fox News host Tucker Carlson today as part of Charlie Kirk's American Comeback Tour—planned before Kirk died last month. Some local residents have criticized the event and may protest while the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression warned that disruptive protests can limit free speech. Star Press

- ➤ The Orionid meteor shower peaks today, letting stargazers see up to 20 meteors per hour from debris left by Halley’s Comet—an event boosted by a new moon’s darker skies.
