- ➤ Delta girls soccer advanced to the IHSAA Class 2A final four for the first time after a 2-0 win over Culver Academies at Concordia Lutheran High School. Freshman Avery Jarrells scored both goals and the Eagles will face top-ranked Mishawaka Marian in the semistate at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 — marking their best postseason run to date. Star Press
- ➤ Ball State defeated Akron 42-28 on Oct. 18 at home after a one-hour lightning delay, with quarterback Kiael Kelly (three rushing touchdowns) and running back Qua Ashley (143 rushing yards) powering the offense. The Cardinals sealed the win with a 90-yard kickoff return by TJ Horton and two late interceptions. Star Press
- ➤ IHSAA cross country sectional races took place Saturday, Oct. 18 and teams from Delta, Muncie Central, Wapahani and Yorktown for the boys and from Jay County, Monroe Central, Wapahani and Yorktown for the girls have advanced to Regionals at New Haven on Oct. 25; a New Castle individual qualifier will run at Shelbyville and sectional titles went to Delta junior Peyton Engle and Yorktown junior Wyatt Turner.
