- ➤ On October 11, Delta High School’s boys soccer team earned a sectional title by winning 2 to 1 in extra time against Oak Hill, ending a nine-year wait, while the girls team won its first title since 2002 with a 9 to 0 victory over New Castle. Both teams will compete in regional semifinals next week—boys hosting Guerin Catholic on October 15 and girls playing at Oak Hill on October 16 at 6 p.m. Star Press
- ➤ The Indiana High School Athletic Association will hold its blind draw for football sectional pairings tonight at 6:00 p.m. ET, with the first state tournament round set for Oct. 24. Local teams from Yorktown, Shenandoah and Winchester Community are in the mix, and no East Central Indiana school has defended a sectional title since Delta in 2023. Star Press
