- ➤ Menards is hosting a food drive that began Oct.1 and will run until Oct.31—shoppers can drop off non-perishable food items like cereal and soup near the exit to help a local pantry fight hunger. Star Press

- ➤ Muncie area will host a variety of fall events this month—from a free Boo-levard bash at Minnetrista on Oct. 10 to mall Malloween on Oct. 31—and include family-friendly shows, parades, costume contests and outdoor activities such as apple picking for locals to enjoy. Star Press
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Delta boys tennis beat Westfield 3—2 in a close semifinal and then won 4—1 over Alexandria—Monroe for their first regional title since 2022; the team ended a two-year title drought with 26 regionals in 30 years. They improved to a 20—2 record and will play Homestead in the semi-state tournament. Star Press
- ➤ Ball State football coach Mike Uremovich led a postgame press conference after the Cardinals upset Ohio at home—receiver Qian Magwood and defensive end Nathan Voorhis added details of the win. Star Press
- ➤ Ball State football will head to Kalamazoo to face Western Michigan as the Cardinals try to secure a 2-0 MAC start since 2019—Western Michigan’s strong defense, which leads the MAC in sacks, may keep the game low scoring. Star Press
