BUSINESS NEWS

  • Costco is recalling its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene wine due to concerns that the bottles could shatter even when not handled. The recalled wine was sold between April 25 and August 26 in various states including Indiana—customers are advised to dispose of the bottles as instructed and receive a refund without returning the product.  Star Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Afro-Peruvian Jazz Orchestra will perform a free outdoor concert at Brown Family Amphitheater on the Ball State University campus on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.—with the Ball State University Jazz Ensemble opening the show as part of the Muncie Three Trails Music Series.  Star Press
  • Muncie Civic Theatre will host its second annual gala 'Civic Soireé: Symbols & Secrets' on Oct. 18 where guests 21 or older will enjoy an immersive evening of mystery, clues, cocktails, small bites, and dancing to support local arts. Tickets are on sale now for $65 (discount available when buying five tickets to get one free) until Sept. 18; after that, prices will rise to $100.  Star Press

  • The Indiana BMV offers over 140 license plate options including a new blackout plate introduced last month at $45—other designs for college, organization, and military vehicles cost $5 to $15 and are available online, at a BMV Connect kiosk, or at any branch.  Star Press

  • Ball State football players Alfred Chea and Nathan Voorhis, who began their careers at UConn, will face the Huskies on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Storrs—both players say they will treat the game like any other despite their past ties.  Star Press
