- ➤ New filings for unemployment benefits in Indiana fell to 2,346 the week ending September 6, down slightly from 2,361, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Nationwide, claims increased by 27,000 during the same period—showing mixed trends in jobless claims. Star Press
- ➤ The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that Midwest gas prices dropped last week to $3.06 per gallon on Monday from $3.09 the previous week—making the regional price about 4.3% lower than the national average of $3.19. Star Press
