Good morning, Muncie. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 9th of September.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Muncie has spent about $200 million to separate its aging combined sewer and stormwater lines—work that will continue through 2035 with funding from rate increases. Local officials say that nearby investments, like Seymour's new water treatment plant, may hint at future upgrades for our water system.  Star Press
  • Delaware County Election Board voted 3+0 to use 26 vote centers for county elections, allowing any registered voter to cast a ballot at any center rather than in their home precinct. The new system must be approved by state election officials and will be used for the primary election in May.  Star Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • The poll for The Star Press IU Health Football Player of the Week for week three is open until noon Friday and features high school players including Yorktown’s Kaden Crumes—who scored both touchdowns in his team’s 15-12 win—along with five other nominees. Fans may send future nominations by email to Cade Hampton.  Star Press
