- ➤ Muncie police reported that five men were shot in three separate incidents—an incident occurred at an apartment complex on South Madison Street at 8:36 p.m. Sept. 5 with one victim in critical condition, another happened at a convenience store parking lot on Madison and Willard at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 5, and the final occurred at a residence on South Monroe Street at 1:01 a.m. Sept. 6—with investigations ongoing. - ➤ Ball State football lost 42-3 to Auburn in a road game as Auburn's defense kept the offense to 68 yards and forced four first-half sacks — stopping the Cardinals from scoring more than one field goal in the Mike Uremovich era. The Cardinals will host New Hampshire on Sept. 13. Star Press
