ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ AccuWeather said Indiana could see bright fall colors if a wet spring and cool, sunny September boost the leaves. However—cold fronts and strong winds in October may cut the season short, with peak viewing expected in mid-October. Star Press
- ➤ On Sept.2, Indiana DNR reported that freshwater jellyfish were spotted in lakes, ponds and streams statewide, which surprised many Hoosiers. The small creatures do not sting swimmers and are usually seen when water is warm and clear. Star Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Delaware County commissioners are planning to move the remaining government offices from the 56-year-old county building to the Justice Center in Middletown Park because the building needs an estimated 6 to 7 million dollars in renovations—this plan follows a long history of tax disputes over spending on public buildings. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Quarterback Kiael Kelly and tight end Koby Gross first connected on Instagram in 2021 in Tampa when Gross looked for a local quarterback to practice with—Kelly later helped recruit him to Ball State; they became teammates this summer and continue to grow their friendship and skills together.
