CRIME NEWS
- ➤ One Muncie man was accused of shooting another during an armed robbery at the victim’s south-side home around 1 a.m. on Sept. 1—police said the victim was shot multiple times and later underwent surgery at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Star Press
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A free concert featuring country and bluegrass artist Colby T. Helms will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at Brown Family Amphitheater on the Ball State University campus—Stampede String Band will open the show as part of the 2025 Muncie Three Trails Music Series. Star Press
- ➤ Philanthropist David T. Owsley—Ball family heir and longtime supporter of Ball State—died on August 23 in New York City at age 96. Ball State honored his legacy by renaming its museum in his honor in 2010, and his extensive gifts, including over $10 million and more than 3,000 art works, enriched the campus collection. - ➤ On Labor Day, protesters from Muncie Resists gathered at the Fallen Heroes Memorial Bridge to chant about workers' rights and oppose billionaire influence.
