- ➤ The YMCA of Muncie announced that Christopher Butler is its new president and CEO, bringing over 30 years of YMCA experience from Greater Indianapolis—Board Chair Beth Trammell said his strong leadership and community focus will guide the organization as it grows. Star Press

- ➤ Effective Sept. 2, The Clubhouse in downtown Muncie transitioned into a private event center that now hosts only pre-booked community events—gift cards remain redeemable for event bookings or at Vera Mae’s Bistro at 209 S. Walnut St. All current bookings will be honored. Star Press
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Ball State University’s School of Music will host the fifth National Sursa Organ Competition at its Sursa Performance Hall on Sept. 6 and 7, and the event will be free, open to the public, and livestreamed. Semifinal rounds run on Sept. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. while finals take place on Sept. 7 from 12:45 to 4:15 p.m.—participants in both pre-professional and high school divisions will perform on the gifted organ.
