- ➤ Data from Zumper showed that Muncie apartment listings reached a median of $900 in July, up from last year’s $875 but 6% below last month’s $954. One-bedroom units remained at $695 while two-bedroom listings hit $900—reflecting mixed trends in the local rental market. Star Press
- ➤ Regional gas prices have stayed at $2.99 per gallon this week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Prices were about 10% higher a year ago and current Midwest costs are around 4.2% lower than the national average — giving area drivers a cost benefit. Star Press
- ➤ The U.S. Department of Labor said Indiana’s jobless claims dropped from 2,607 to 2,548 for the week ending August 16 — while national claims increased to 235,000. Star Press
