Muncie Central ended a 19 year drought for a season-opening win and broke Delta’s 30 year streak with a 16 to 13 victory Friday night.
The Bearcats rallied in the second half with 131 rushing yards by Dae'Cion Echols and a 69 yard catch by Carlos Echols Jr — Delta’s offense stalled thereafter.
On Friday night, August 22, 2025, high school football games in and around Muncie produced close contests plus a blowout rivalry game when Winchester beat Monroe Central 40 to 6, with other teams posting key scores in the area and statewide.
