First Choice for Women announced its new executive director, Maria French, a lifelong Muncie resident with a strong background in education and business management.
She assumed her role in late July—continuing to lead the nonprofit that has served women in the region since 1986.
Claire's filed its second bankruptcy on August 6th and may close over 1,100 stores nationwide, including one at Muncie Mall.
Eighteen Claire's and Icing stores will close on September 7th and the company will seek a buyer for about 800 remaining locations—rising fast-fashion competition and high costs have hurt its business.
