Governor Mike Braun appointed Aidan Davis as the new student representative on the Ball State University Board of Trustees—Davis, a biochemistry major from Greenfield with local volunteer experience, began his two-year term on July 10 and will serve through June 30, 2027.
He replaces outgoing student Hope Churchill.
🏈 Sports
Jay County football coach Eddie Fields previewed the Patriots' upcoming 2025 season and outlined his vision for the team's efforts ahead—emphasizing preparation for new challenges.
His comments provided insight into how the team plans to compete strongly this year.
The Star Press will cover the 2025 IHSAA football season for East Central Indiana teams with games set to begin on Aug.
22 and postseason sectionals on Oct. 24, followed by state championship games scheduled for Nov. 28–29 at Lucas Oil Stadium. It has been decades since a team from the region reached the state finals and won a championship, and the coverage will track every game from preseason to the final match.
