  • Panera Bread will close all its fresh dough production facilities over the next two years as it shifts to an *on-demand* model that relies on third-party suppliers. Indiana locations are not affected since the chain has no production facilities in the state and its 45 cafés will continue to serve par-baked products.  Star Press

CRIME NEWS

  • Deputies are asking residents to help find a 50-year-old suspect, Joshua Stephen Black, who fled near the 1900 block of East Hamilton Drive at 4 a.m. on July 29, is 6 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes—residents should call 911 immediately if they see him.  Star Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • WalletHub's study ranked Indiana's healthcare 22nd with a score of 56.24, showing strong cost marks—though access and outcomes were lower. The study also found New Hampshire has the best system while Mississippi has the worst.  Star Press

  • Ball State football players began fall camp in Muncie as head coach Mike Uremovich prepares the team for the 2025 season. Redshirt senior quarterback Kiael Kelly and 53 new players, 34 of whom came from the transfer portal, are expected to spark a fast+physical offense while returning defensive starters work to strengthen the Cardinals.  Star Press
