The Salvation Army is hosting a purse auction fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug.
8 at 1015 N. Wheeling Ave to support community initiatives; attendees will enjoy food, refreshments, and a $5 food and drink coupon.
On July 14, Muncie's Soup Kitchen provided hot meals with the help of its full-time staff, part-time kitchen manager, board, and volunteers who prepared dishes and organized supplies, while Director Emily Hayes coordinated efforts to address rising community needs.
