ECONOMY NEWS

  • Forge ECI, formerly the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership, will hold its 20th anniversary gala on Tuesday, July 29 at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie to celebrate 20 years of collaboration, innovation and economic growth. The evening will include a milestone celebration, a fireside chat with Governor Mike Braun, a cocktail reception, and a brand showcase — seating is limited and RSVP is required by July 18.  Star Press
  • Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows that regional gas prices in the Midwest declined for the second consecutive week to an average of $2.98 per gallon from $3.05 the previous week. The figures also reveal that prices are about 4.6% lower than the national average while slightly higher than last month.  Star Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Putnam County health officials confirmed a measles case on July 9 in one county with no outbreak and low public risk. Health experts advised residents to check immunization records and consult health care providers about the safe and effective MMR vaccine — especially as outbreaks have occurred in at least 38 states this year.  Star Press

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Data from Realtor.com showed that homes in Delaware County sold in April for a median price of $137,500, which was 11.3% lower than in March and 12.4% lower than April last year. The figures also revealed that single-family homes dropped to $130,000 — and seven condominiums or townhomes sold for over $1 million, marking a shift from last year's trends.  Star Press

  • Ball State football has introduced Jalen Moss as its new snipers coach to lead a hybrid linebacker—safety role developed by head coach Mike Uremovich, who brought him from Butler to Muncie.
