Vicki Veach will receive the Chamber Legacy Award on Oct.

21 at Horizon Convention Center for her more than 40 years of work in downtown revitalization and tourism. Indiana Michigan Power is the presenting sponsor.

The Delaware County Historical Society has scanned 80 cabinet cards showing vaudeville performers at the demolished Wysor Grand Opera House (in operation from 1892) to preserve Muncie's rich entertainment history, while only Muncie Civic and the Edmund Burke Ball Auditorium remain as heritage theaters.

Ball State Teachers College received the 2026 Distinguished Educator Preparation Program Award from ISTE+ASCD for its innovative plan to help future educators use technology in the classroom (reflecting its Destination 2040 strategy).

Faculty accepted the honor at ISTELive 26 in Orlando.
