- ➤ Muncie Civic Theatre is showing the musical 1776 from today to June 29. The production is directed by Michael O’Hara and led by musical director Michael Williamson and features Civic veterans Matt and Margaret Reeder with their son Graham as Thomas Jefferson, with performances on Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Star Press

- ➤ The BlackRock Foundation gave a $500,000 grant to Cradle to Career Muncie on June 11 to start Freshman and Career Academies at Muncie Central High School and boost graduation rates from 86% to 95% by 2029. The grant will help 1,317 students over two years by paying for career coaching—teacher training, classroom supplies and bus help—using a model that worked well in Nashville. Star Press
