The Juneteenth Muncie Committee is hosting the sixth celebration on Saturday, June 14 at McCulloch Park from 2 to 9 p.m.—the free, family-friendly event will have live performances, youth activities and local vendors.
The event marks the day that ended slavery and brings the community together.
Grissom Elementary School was named a Family Friendly School by the Indiana Department of Education — one of only 45 schools in Indiana to earn this distinction this year.
The school increased family involvement through regular Big Idea Family Nights, improved attendance, and community tutoring that helped raise its IREAD scores.
