In the 1830s, local people in Delaware County planned canals to move goods faster and built a dam near Dales Ville to form a small lake.
Economic troubles and the rise of railroads ended the project and left little trace of the canal—marking an ambitious era in our region.
🏈 Sports
Muncie area teams began competing in IHSAA baseball sectionals on May 28 and games will continue today at venues including Yorktown, Winchester Community, and Wes-Del.
The tournament will crown champions on June 2 and brackets, scores, and stats are updated throughout the week.
