  • Delaware County Special Needs Prom returns May 16 at Horizon Convention Center with over 1,000 guests set to enjoy music, dancing, and updates on the upcoming Year of Belonging programs. A pre-prom reception will also offer details on new board member opportunities.  Star Press
  • On May 7, Bharath Ramanidharan launched the Amarnath Foundation by using $500,000 to buy affordable rental units in Muncie and Anderson that offer lower rents than market rates. The foundation seeks community donations to complete repairs and secure stable housing for families.  Star Press

  • Ace Hardware launched Hometown Days to offer summer savings on grills, outdoor furniture and lawn care supplies. The Mother's Day sale runs today through May 10 while Memorial Day deals begin May 13, and Ace Rewards members can access exclusive offers (check with your local store).  Star Press
  • The Chug, a dive bar near Ball State, remains open amid changes in The Village. Owner Phil Juskevice plans to keep it operating as Ball State redevelops nearby spaces (a performing arts center, townhomes, and a green space) that will transform the area.  Star Press
  • The Home Depot’s Decor Days Sale, which began May 7, is running online until May 13, offering Muncie residents up to 50% off on furniture, decor (and patio items) for a spring refresh.  Star Press
