🏈 Sports
IHSAA announced on May 4 the first-round baseball sectional matchups for the state tournament that will begin on May 28—regional games are set for June 7, followed by semi-state on June 14 and state championship games on June 20-21.
Muncie area teams such as Muncie Central, represented in Sectional 9 at Pendleton Heights, will face local rivals at venues including Yorktown, Madison-Grant, Winchester Community, Wes-Del, and Seton Catholic.
IHSAA announced first-round softball sectional matchups on May 4 that set the postseason route for Muncie-area teams; sectionals will run from May 26 to 31 and lead to regionals on June 3, semi-states on June 7 and championships on June 13—14 at Purdue Bittinger Stadium.
Muncie Central, Delta, Jay County, New Castle, Yorktown, Blackford, Wapahani, Shenandoah, Winchester Community, Cowan, Daleville, Wes-Del and Monroe Central are all set to compete.
