  • Muncie quilter Brenda Sloan Wilson is honored for quilting achievements at the Redbud Quilt Guild’s biennial show on May 15 and 16 at the Anderson Museum of Art (32 W. 10th St.). The show runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 15 with a reception at 2 p.m.  Star Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • A Delaware County Historical Society historian detailed Muncie’s early sanitation struggles and innovations from the 1870s to the 1930s — noting that the first underground High Street Sewer was built in 1879 amid heated public debate over cost and health.  Star Press
  • Yuhas Woods will host its wildflower celebration on May 3 from 1 to 4 p.m., offering both self-guided walks & guided tours led by a botanical expert along trails blooming with spring wildflowers. Locals get a rare chance to explore the preserve that is usually closed to the public.  Star Press

  • Wes-Del High School's esports team won the Indiana Esports Network state championship in Mario Kart on Saturday, Apr. 25 at Noblesville's Riverview Health Arena. The six-senior team defeated larger schools, marking their third state title in four years — a strong esports tradition.  Star Press
