- ➤ Dr. Jeffery C. Bird, a lifelong Delaware County resident and president of IU Health East Region, has been named the recipient of the Greater Muncie Chamber's 2025 Legacy Award—recognizing his significant contributions to local health care and community service. The award will be presented at the Legacy Dinner on Sept. 18 at the Horizon Convention Center. Star Press

- ➤ Several Joann fabric and craft stores in Indiana closed in April, with sites in Angola, Indianapolis, Jasper, Marion, Michigan City, Plymouth, Richmond, South Bend, and Vincennes shutting down. Five locations in Avon, Bedford, Bloomington, Columbus, and Greenwood remain open for liquidation sales — they do not have official closing dates yet. Star Press
