- ➤ The Delaware County Special Needs Prom — now in its 11th year — will be held on May 10 at the Horizon Convention Center, where guests will dress up and dance to celebrate inclusion. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 69-year-old Muncie attorney, Donald K. McClellan, was critically injured in a one-vehicle SUV crash along the Muncie Bypass at 7:22 a.m. Wednesday when his vehicle left the road near Delaware County Road 400 South and struck three mailboxes before rolling over—he was taken from IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and later flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital as investigators work to determine the cause. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Melvin Lee Weaver was convicted of reckless homicide, obstruction of justice and driving while suspended after his fatal crash on the Muncie Bypass, and the Indiana Court of Appeals upheld his judgments—he is now serving a seven-year sentence at Putnamville Correctional Facility with a projected release in January 2027. - ➤ Cowan baseball recorded a 5 to 2 win over Monroe Central on Tuesday night after playing with only 10 active players—senior pitcher Gentry Groves threw a complete game with eight strikeouts and junior catcher Jaydon Auker led the offense.
