- ➤ Local residents will gather on April 26 at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens for the Muncie Arbor Day Celebration to mark the city’s 27th year as a Tree City USA. The event will offer a free sapling giveaway, tree planting demos, crafts, a visit by Johnny Appleseed, and Mayor Dan Ridenour will present the Arbor Day proclamation at 10:30 a.m. — supplies are limited so early arrival is recommended. - ➤ Ball State University celebrated the reopening of its renovated Cooper Science Building on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the building (2000 W. Riverside Ave.) and attended by campus leaders, faculty, staff, students, and community partners. The $60 million project completed a three-phase plan to replace the former complex; it added modern labs and interactive classrooms and connected to the campus geothermal energy system to support science programs.
