CRIME NEWS

  • Winchester resident Christian Michelle Armstrong, 52, was sentenced to four years in prison for causing serious bodily injury on April 27th, 2024 after driving while intoxicated and crashing on U.S. 36 near Wilbur Wright Road, injuring an 80-year-old driver—she pleaded guilty to a Level 5 felony—and she now faces additional charges in Randolph County and Henry Circuit Court 2.  Star Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA initiated a Class II recall on March 13 for 4,152 packages of Our Family Traverse City Cherry Decaf Light Roast Ground Coffee that were mislabeled as decaffeinated and distributed to 15 states including Indiana—692 of these are 12-ounce packages from The SpartanNash Company. The recall addresses a labeling error that may cause temporary, medically reversible health effects.  Star Press

  • IHSAA announced Friday that girls volleyball state finals will move from Worthen Arena to Gainbridge Fieldhouse next fall, ending an 18-year run at the arena— the 2025 championships are set for November 8th.  Star Press
  • The Indiana Junior All-Stars roster includes committed player Luke Ertel+and a core group of talented players from local schools. The team will play its first game against the Kentucky Junior All-Stars on June 1 at Charlestown+and its second game against the Indiana All-Stars on June 4 at Greenfield-Central.  Star Press
