- ➤ Indiana's weekly jobless claims edged up last week to 2,637 from 2,586, according to the Labor Department. Nationwide, total claims dropped by 8,000 to 205,000 on a seasonally adjusted basis. Star Press

- ➤ Ball State is expected to hire 42-year-old Chris Capko as its next men’s basketball coach, replacing Michael Lewis after four seasons. Capko, known for his time as an assistant at USC and SMU (a top national recruiter), is in negotiations to rebuild a program that has not reached the NCAA Tournament since 2000. Star Press
