The Women's NCAA Tournament begins this week and features former Indiana high school players competing with their colleges — including Ball State's Ally Becki who averages nearly 14 points per game and a recovering sophomore guard — with others from Illinois, UConn and Alabama also in the lineup.

Three high school teams from East Central Indiana are set to play in the IHSAA boys basketball semi-states on Saturday, March 22, with Delta facing East Chicago Central at Logansport, Wapahani meeting Gary 21st Century at Michigan City, and Monroe Central challenging Kouts at Lafayette. These games will decide which teams advance to state finals — only eight teams will remain — as each team seeks a state championship berth.
