- ➤ A Ball State professor finished a documentary called 'Illuminate the Arts' about Muncie's historic downtown Masonic Temple, built 100 years ago and home to Cornerstone Center for the Arts. The film will premiere on March 19 at Cornerstone’s annual fundraiser — marking its 20-year anniversary and Muncie's growing arts corridor. Star Press
- ➤ MuncieArts marked 15 years of public art and community collaboration on March 16 — the nonprofit grew from a grassroots effort to the official arts partner and will host a weekend art unveiling from April 24 to 26 and a Downtown celebration on June 4. Star Press

- ➤ Leo Furlong, a seventh-grader at Burris Laboratory Middle School, won the Ball State PBS Regional Spelling Bee on March 7; his victory earns him a spot at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May near Washington, D.C. Star Press
