  • The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce honored Lena Reid from Destination: Muncie on March 5 at Westminster Village for her work in community storytelling and local engagement. She was recognized for her leadership and efforts to bring people together.  Star Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Muncie Community Schools was recognized by StriveTogether for rising literacy rates and better attendance; reading scores improved by 14% and suspensions dropped over two years as part of their Cradle To Career Muncie initiative (which also boosted graduation rates and Ivy Tech completion).  Star Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Indiana clocks will spring forward on Sunday, Mar. 8 at 2 a.m. as daylight saving time begins, and local bars + restaurants will serve alcohol until 4 a.m. to accommodate the change.  Star Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • Delta and Yorktown will face off in a rematch for the IHSAA boys basketball Sectional 24 championship today at New Castle Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. ET after winning their semifinal games on Friday, March 6. Both teams are ready for a competitive showdown.  Star Press
