CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Barricade Boys, a musical theater vocal group, will perform at Emens Auditorium at Ball State University at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24. The group (featuring four West End performers) will share songs from musicals and stories about their roles in productions like Les Misérables and Wicked. Star Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ball State University has launched the Humanities in Action program using a $2.5 million Mellon Foundation grant to provide paid internships for at least 75 humanities majors starting fall. The program supports students with placement and a required internship course in subjects like English and philosophy. Star Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State lawmakers approved Senate Concurrent Resolution 4 to honor fallen Officer Winters by asking INDOT to rename part of Interstate 69 beginning at the 233-mile marker — a tribute to Winters who served Muncie from 1986 to 1991. Star Press
