BUSINESS NEWS

  • Open Door Health Services CEO Bryan Ayars announced his retirement for mid-2026 after leading the organization through pandemic challenges and significant growth in Muncie. The board will begin a search for a new leader while patients continue receiving the same care (staff now exceed 250 and serve over 30,000 residents).  Star Press
  • Intersection, a local marketing agency, added five new employees (marking its 15th year) who bring nearly 80 years of combined experience to boost its capacity for larger projects in East Central Indiana. The hiring was announced on Jan. 22.  Star Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A local advocate from the YWCA warned that the proposed Senate Bill 285—which would make long-term camping on public land a misdemeanor and bar local policies—could worsen homelessness in Muncie and disrupt next week's homeless count used to guide aid.  Star Press
