Comedy Crash Course

About this event

@

Comedy Crash Course is a three-hour introductory workshop into the art of stand-up comedy. Professional comics teach you how to uncover humor in your personal experiences. You’ll learn the basics of structuring jokes, comedy writing, and stand-up techniques in an interactive environment.

This workshop was rescheduled from August 15 due to weather conditions and cleanup in the area.

About the Instructor

Terry Shepard is an Indianapolis-based stand-up comedian, storyteller, and producer whose comedy lives at the intersection of real life, pop culture, getting older, and the kind of questionable decisions that somehow make better stories than regrets. Terry has shared stages around the country with comedy heavyweights including Tommy Davidson, TK Kirkland, Bobby Henline, and Ryan Niemiller, earning laughs with a style that mixes sharp observations, storytelling, and just enough dad energy to suggest he probably knows where the nearest Cracker Barrel is. Here in Indianapolis, Terry produces Saturday Night Vibe, a stand-up showcase featuring some of the best comics from Indy and beyond. A semi-finalist in Helium’s Funniest Person in Indiana and a finalist in Michigan’s Funny Over 40, Terry is living proof that comedy can improve with age.
